Even though chances are that you have never heard of the brand LeTV, the company actually has quite a presence, at least in its home country of China. In any case, LeTV officially announced its new Android smartphone, the Le 1s.
According to LeTV, it costs about 1,310 Chinese yuan (RM882) to make the 1s, although the company will be selling the device for 1,100 yuan (RM 741).
In case you were wondering if that was a typo, it’s not. The LeTV will actually be selling the Le 1s at a loss, at least so they claim. What’s more the hardware of the 1s is actually quite decent. Powering the 5.5-inch device with its 1080p display is a MediaTek Helio X10 CPU paired to 3GB of RAM. Inside you will find 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. Shutterbugs will find a 13-megapixel rear camera working in tandem with a 5-megapixel selfie-taker in the front. Other additions include a fingerprint sensor, LTE connectivity support and dual-SIM. Keeping everything up and running is a 3,000mAh battery with fast-charge support.
What can we say? The specifications matching with its sleek metal design makes Le 1s a rather compelling and impressive device, especially when you consider the price tag. No word if it will be making to our shores, but as always, if you need a smartphone bad enough, there will be someone to fulfill that need.
