Sony introduced VAIO Fit and Fit E

Sony introduced VAIO Fit and Fit E

Though VAIO laptops of Sony may be known for its high-end features, the two newly added models, the VAIO Fit E and VAIO Fit come with a more friendly pricing. Available in both 14- and 15-inch screen sizes in a range of colors, the pricing starts at $549 and $649 respectively.

The Vaio Fit and Fit E feature Windows 8 and optional touchscreens to take advantage of the touch capabilities of the new OS. Both laptops offer Intel third-generation Core (aka, Ivy Bridge) processor options, with the Fit’s 14-inch display sporting 1,600×900 resolution, and the Fit’s 15-inch screens featuring 1,920×1,080 resolution. There is also an option to add Blu-ray drives and Nvidia discrete graphics, or in the Fit’s case, solid state drives (or hybrid storage options).

The Fit has a more premium appearance compared to the Fit E thanks to a handsome aluminium chassis. The Fit also comes with a number pad as part of its backlit keyboard.  Both laptops are available in Black, white or pink color. The Fit and Fit E promise huge webcam improvements from the camera team, and much bigger and better sound than you’d expect from a laptop thanks to the company’s many audio engineers.

Sony hopes to improve the performance of the Fit’s webcams by integrating its Exmor R CMOS sensors — used in its Xperia phones — to boost the image in low light. It’s also integrated NFC technology, giving you direct Bluetooth and wi-fi connections with other mobile devices just by touching them to the laptop.

The new VAIO Fit and VAIO Fit E models will be available in APAC from June 2013 onwards.
