Just days after rival LG said it would begin production of curved-screen phones next year, Samsung Electronics launched its latest handset with a curved display screen.
Dubbed as the Galaxy Ground, the smartphone features a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. It measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 154g. The phone is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage. It packs with a 2800mAh battery and comes with a 13-megapixels rear camera.
Samsung said the curved screen display has been loaded with some exclusive features, such as the Roll Effect which allows users to check information such as date, time and missed calls when home screen is off, with more ease. At the same time, users can also change music tracks on their phone, even while its display is off.
The Galaxy Round will initially be launched only in South Korea at the price of around 1.09 million won (around RM3259). However, there’s no word on its plans for a global launch yet.
