The hype behind the latest Star Wars movie is too big for Google to ignore, hence the company is giving users a choice to pick the Light or go to the Dark side of the Force. The choice users pick comes with various new themes across Google’s services. To pick a side, go to google.com/starwars and declare your allegiance to their the Light or the Dark side. If you picked the wrong side don’t worry, the change is not permanent and you are able to switch to between the two option.
Once you pick a side, Google will start updating your apps on your device. Your Gmail will get new background of scenes from the new Force Awakens movie while your new YouTube progress bar and volume rocker will appear as either a red or blue light saber. The car icon on your Google Maps will be replaced to either an X-wing or a TIE fighter. In Street View, the orange pegman gets replaced to a older version of a Stormtrooper while your Waze will feature audio voice of C-3PO.
There are more features in Google’s other services such as Chrome, Chromecast, Google Translate, Android Wear, Calendar and Google Now. Not all features are working yet, as this is a relatively new update from Google.
