Acer launched the Liquid C1 smartphone in Malaysia yesterday. It is the first phone that runs Intel’s new Atom Z2420 processor in Malaysia. The phone is expected to arrive in store next week with an affordable price of RM999.
The Liquid C1 sports a 4.3″ qHD IPS display with 960×540 pixels resolution and runs on a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor with HyperThreading. Internally it has 4GB of storage which is expandable with microSD memory slot. It comes with a 2,000mAh battery which is rather generous for a mid-range smartphone.
In the imaging department, the Liquid C1 features an 8.0MP camera that shoots 5fps burst mode and over at the front there’s a VGA camera. The phone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which will be upgradeable to Jelly Bean.
Acer has introduced a Try Before You Buy program that enables users to test the phone before making purchase. Users need to make full payment of RM999 upfront for testing a loaner unit for 3 days. If you’re satisfied, just return the loan unit for a brand new phone.
