Asus launched a 7-inch Fonepad at Mobile World Congress. The FonePad looks similar to the Google Nexus 7 tablet but it merges cellular voice calling with a small tablet.
The device has an HD display with IPS technology for wide viewing angles. It also features 10-point multi-touch, and a 1280 x 800 HD resolution. Running Android 4.1, the 7-inch Fonepad uses Intel’s Atom Z2420 processor.[more…]
The Fonepad is available with 8GB or 16GB of storage which is expandable with an SD card slot up to 32GB of additional storage. It sports a front 1.2-megapixel for easy video chat and an optional rear 3-megapixel autofocus camera with 720p HD video recording. It has 1GB RAM.
The battery life is estimated at around 9 hours, and Asus will release the tablet in titanium gray or champagne gold colors. Asus says the Fonepad will be made available In March starting at just $249, however the exact pricing and specifications will vary by market.
